ABSTRACT
Griseofulvin, a BCS Class II drug with poor aqueous solubility, is widely used to treat dermatophytic
infections. To improve its solubility and topical delivery, Griseofulvin-loaded nanosponges were
formulated and incorporated into a hydrogel. The nanosponges were prepared using the emulsion
solvent diffusion method with ethyl cellulose, polyvinyl alcohol, and dichloromethane. The optimized
nanosponge formulation (F4) was then incorporated into a hydrogel base using Carbopol 934, propylene
glycol, and triethanolamine. Various physicochemical and in vitro evaluations confirmed the
effectiveness and stability of the final formulation.
